WHY DO WE NEED HYDRA PROFILING®?
Each printing device should have its ICC color profile to enable designers and prepress operators to accurately separate, proof en reproduce colors on various devices.
The fact that accurate ICC press profiles are often tedious, long and costly to obtain results in printers using inaccurate generic profiles or obsolete profiles or no profile at all.
Alwan Hydra Profiling® technology addresses these concerns and provides a cost-effective way of accurately profiling a print device from a small number of printed patches.
Moreover, required printed patches can be measured in production, using process control strip or color bar making dedicated calibration and profiling print sessions a thing of the past.

Thanks to its unique regeneration technology, Hydra is able to identify the spectral properties of device colorants (ink/toner...) and substrate (reflective, transparent…), and to predict and regenerate the entire dataset necessary to build an accurate 3/4/5/6/7 color ICC profile that can be used in all ICC compliant software, workflows, proofers and RIPs.
