WHAT ARE ALWAN’S INK SAVING TECHNOLOGIES?

All ink saving technologies started with Gray Component Replacement (GCR). Originally the main sought benefit was to stabilize the printing of grays and near-neutral colors. With time, higher GCR levels were used to save ink. However, heavy GCR can cause print quality loss.

To overcome this issue, Alwan developed a technology called “Dynamic Maximum Black” which took into account the printing process ICC profile specifics. Black generation can exceed the maximum GCR by 10% (or more when possible) without any compromise on color accuracy or print quality.

However, in situations where strong black ink usage is not necessary or desired, Alwan developed a new technology called “Minimum TAC and Ink Usage” which proved to be the best separation technology for digital and multicolor printing. Moreover, for jobs where minor color deviation from the original can be accepted, "Ink Saving Boost” can be used to save at least 10% more ink..
