France to Host April 2026 ISO TC 130 Graphic Technology Meeting

April in Paris

Global Experts’ Work Advances Color and Print Standardization

Lyon, France – July 1, 2025 – France has been confirmed as the host country for the 2026 ISO/TC 130 spring meeting, scheduled for April 2026, in Paris. The announcement was made today by UNIIC, the French graphic industry umbrella organization, and Elie Khoury, Shadow Committee Chair and head of the French Delegation to ISO/TC 130. Khoury is also President of Alwan Color Expertise, based in Lyon.

ISO TC130 is the International Standardization Organization Technical Committee for graphic technology.

“France is proud to welcome the world’s distinguished graphic arts technology experts to Paris,” says Khoury, one of Europe’s most active standards architects and development experts since the 90s. “This spring has signaled renewed momentum in our industry. Despite some challenges in key markets, growth continues; especially in packaging, digital printing, and automation. The April 2026 meeting will be an important opportunity to advance the global standards that underpin our industry’s future.”

The announcement follows last month’s ISO/TC 130 meeting sponsored by ANSI and hosted by X-Rite in Grand Rapids, Michigan; where close to 50 international experts came together to discuss and progress critical industry standards. Key takeaways are highlighted below. A complete accounting of the meeting is available directly from the ISO/TC 130 working group, at https://committee.iso.org/home/tc130.

Offset Process Control

A revision of ISO 12647-2 was unanimously approved and incorporates a compromise on Near Neutral Calibration (NNC), also known as G7 calibration.

A new Unified Characterization Dataset (UCD) for coated paper will soon be available in spectral format.

A project based on the Fogra ISO-Score was introduced, aiming to establish an ISO-standard scoring system for CMYK print image quality.

Color Conformity

ISO 19302 is being revised to reflect best practices in multicolor (Extended Color Gamut – ECG) printing, spectral spot color reproduction, and digital workflows.
